Topeka Consultation Group with Dan Papero, Ph.D. Dr. Papero leads an all
day consultation group three times a year that is designed to increase understanding of Bowen Systems Theory through practical
application to life problems. The consultation group format minimizes “group emotional process,” and encourages
individuals to observe and think independently while applying systems concepts. The 2011-2012 group is being held twice

coaching group
Bowen theory coaching groups are designed
to increase understanding of Bowen Systems Theory through practical application to life problems. Coaching accelerates learning and allows the student to apply theory in real life
situations. The Bowen coaching group format minimizes “group
emotional process,” and encourages individuals to observe and think independently while applying systems concepts. Participants will prepare family diagrams and work system diagrams prior to their presentations, noting important dates, events and information significant to the presentation.
Presentations focus on a question, problem or hypothesis.
Confidentiality will apply.
Tuition
Fee: $420 for 3 meetings, ($140 each) due at each meeting.

Family Evaluation & Family of Origin Group--Monthly.
Tamara J. Hawk, LSCSW will be on
medical leave for the next several months and will not offer a fall coaching group. Plans for the spring semester 2010 will
be posted at a later date. ********************** Meetings: Once a month, 9 months (5 spring; 4 fall). Group meets from 9:00 am --1:30 pm,
Fridays. Time is added if group size requires it. Format: 9:00-10:30
Lecture or tape and discussion; 10:00-1:00 Case Presentations by members
Tuition for the year is $400 or $200 per semester, due at the beginning of each
semester. The Familly Evaluation & Family of Origin Group is designed to introduce students to applying the concepts
of Bowen theory to clincal and family of origin situations; developing the family hypothesis; gathering appropriate facts,
and advancing current knowledge about application of Bowen Theory. Students come prepared to present a clinical case, their
own family or work system issues. The training year is divided into two semesters. Each meeting starts with a short theoretical presentation
or video tape, followed by group coaching. Participants are encouraged to commit to the full 9 sessions, but enrollment is
by semester. A $20 discount to Praire Center seminars is available to student enrolled in the coaching group. Students commit
to attending the educational seminars as part of the program.

Time
Schedule for Hawk Family of Origin Group 9:00—10:30 Lecture,
tapes, and discussion 10:00—10:15 Break 10:00—1:00 Lunch and Supervision Group. Members are encouraged
to bring lunch or order meals as the group meets through the lunch hour. Time is added in 45 min segments for for each student. CEU’s: Approximately 5.0 CEU’s per meeting day. LSCSW
Supervision Hours. Group hours can be used towards LSCSW Supervision if a plan has been submitted to KS BSRB. For more information
